ScreenTrail is published by Trieflow LLC. Version 1.0 has no account, analytics, advertising, telemetry, crash-reporting service, cloud AI provider, or Trieflow-operated content server.
What ScreenTrail processes
Only after you explicitly start a visible session, ScreenTrail uses Apple's ScreenCaptureKit to inspect selected displays. It associates candidate frames with frontmost-app metadata, discards excluded and low-information content, recognizes text locally with Vision, masks detected secret patterns and user-selected phrases, and releases the unredacted buffer.
Automatic redaction reduces risk but cannot guarantee that every secret or sensitive image will be detected. Review evidence and use Delete this evidence whenever needed.
What is stored
Redacted evidence images, recognized redacted text, activity segments, project assignments, local search embeddings, and Resume Cards may be stored in an encrypted sandboxed vault. The encryption key is stored in your Mac Keychain. Minimal routing metadata remains in the local database so retention and deletion can work.
AI processing
When available, Apple Foundation Models generates structured Resume Cards on device from already-redacted evidence. Every statement must cite known evidence. If the system model is unavailable or fails validation, ScreenTrail creates a deterministic card. Screen content is not sent to Trieflow.
Retention and deletion
The free tier keeps the most recent 24 hours. Pro can select retention up to 90 days and storage limits. Evidence and text may have separate retention periods. Deleting evidence removes its database rows, encrypted payload, search record, and related generated records from the app. ScreenTrail does not promise secure erasure from SSD media or backups controlled by macOS.
Purchases
Apple processes the Lifetime Pro purchase through StoreKit. Trieflow does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple may process purchase and account information under Apple's own policies.
Data collection by Trieflow
ScreenTrail 1.0 does not collect screen content, recognized text, evidence images, project names, Resume Cards, search queries, diagnostics, identifiers, location, contacts, or usage analytics from the app. If you email support, Trieflow receives the information you choose to include and uses it to respond.
