ScreenTrail is designed to explain what happened and preserve your redacted evidence when something goes wrong.
Email contact@trieflow.com for ScreenTrail support. Include the app version and the user-facing error category, but never send unredacted screenshots, vault files, private keys, or passwords.
Screen Recording permission
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording and enable ScreenTrail. Quit and reopen ScreenTrail if macOS asks. ScreenTrail never captures system audio or microphone input.
Capture remains stopped
ScreenTrail always opens stopped. Finish onboarding, choose Start Trail, and confirm that the menu bar and app header both say Recording. If capture permission is revoked or privacy processing fails, ScreenTrail stops before saving another frame.
Apple Intelligence unavailable
Search, the activity trail, and deterministic Resume Cards remain available. A deterministic card does not speculate about a next step. Apple's on-device model may become available after its system download finishes.
Delete or export
Use Delete this evidence on any captured moment, or Settings → Delete all ScreenTrail data to remove the local vault and rotate its key. Export writes only to a folder you choose. ScreenTrail does not claim secure erasure from SSD media.
Purchases
Open Settings → ScreenTrail Pro and choose Restore Purchase while signed into the same App Store account. Unverified transactions never unlock Pro.
